CRESTON - Bruno J. Pfeifer, 90, 12 Cherokee Lane, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Meadowview Care Center in Seville.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born July 5, 1914, in Stettin, Germany, to John and Martha (Oelke) Pfeifer and married Eleanor Wilick on July 27, 1935. She died May 6, 1991. On March 28, 1992, he married Evelyn Carson. She survives.

In 1923, he came to the United States and had made his home in the Cleveland/Brunswick areas, before moving to Creston 33 years ago.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944-45 and was a driver for the Lakewood Bus Co., for Sohio and retired from Refiners Transport. Following retirement, he worked at Kmart for five years.

He was a member of Teamsters Union and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Robert (Phyllis) Pfeifer of Middleburg Heights, Noreen (Richard) Schaefer of Medina, Geraldine (Edward) Hotchkiss of North Ridgeville and Therese Hill of Cleveland; stepchildren, James Steele of California, Gene (Cheryl) Steele of Wadsworth, Phyllis (Dan) Murray of Creston, Robert (Mary) Carson of High Point, N.C., Elizabeth (Dan) Jewell of Metairie, La., and Richard (Sharon) Steele of Medina; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene (Audrey) Pfeifer of Fairview Park.

His first wife, a son, Ronald, and brothers, Erwin and Hans, died previously.
