WOOSTER -- Charles Scott Markley, 84, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at his residence.

A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with Pastor Nathan Ward officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.

Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Scott was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Carrollton to Thomas George and Martha Isabelle (Waggner) Markley.

He graduated from Carrollton High School and served as a paramedic in the 511th Parachute Infantry of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He married Margaret Morris on Jan. 19, 1948.

He retired from Rexroth in 1985 after 23 years of service, and had worked as a security guard for Pinkerton for several years.

He was a member of Fredericksburg American Legion Post 651, and enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Scott will be deeply missed by his daughters, Connie (Charles) McFadden, Joyce (Ronald) Kurtz, Cathy (Robert) Tilton, Brenda Bucher, Glenda (Mike) Drouhard, and Debbie (Ronald) Thomas, all of Wooster; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John, sister, Martha, son-in-law, Bud Bucher, and grandson, Kevin Power.
