CRESTON - Dale E. Litman, 81, 14610 Eby Road, died Monday, September 15, 2003, at his home, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery with military honors following by Creston Post 497. The Rev. Lee Ann Dunlap will officiate.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Monroe to Bernard and Dora (Schnell) Litman. He married Kathleen Beichler on Feb. 3, 1946. She died July 11, 1998.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-1945. He served in Normandy, France and Central Europe.
He had owned and operated a farm near Creston for the past 60 years.
He was a member of Sterling United Methodist Church and Creston American Legion Post 497.
He had made his home in Creston for most of his life.
Surviving are a son, Mark and his wife, Leigh Litman of Seville; a daughter, Bonnie Hammer of Vacaville, Calif.; four granddaughters, Kristine, Kelly and Keri Litman and Jackie Hammer; a brother, Dean Litman of Rittman and a sister, Donna Jean (Walter) Nolt of Orrville.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
