WOOSTER - Earl E. Leyda, 76, of Wooster, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at West View Manor.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home, Shreve. Burial will be at Newkirk Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
Earl was born Nov. 8, 1928, near Shreve to Charles H. “Hallie” and Margaret (Lake) Leyda and served in the U.S. Air Force.
He had attended Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Wooster.
Surviving are sisters, Pearl Foltz of Wooster, with whom he had made his home for 38 years, and Evelyn Duncan of Lakeville; brothers, Albert Leyda of Mount Vernon, Gene Leyda of Big Prairie and Charles “Chuck” Leyda of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers, George, James and Wilbur Leyda, and a sister, Esther Sampsel, died previously.
