Bair, Howard A.
Additional Notes

My grandmother's (Jessie LaVern Bair Gray) brother, Lt. Howard A. Bair was killed in action during WWI. I have his birth date as May 5, 1893 his death date is Nov. 2, 1918. He was 25 at death! I understand that American Legion Post #423 in Rittman is named after him.

If Howard A. Bair has a grave in Rittman Cemetery, was his body returned to the states? Or is it just a memorial marker for him? I found information that he was buried in Meuse-Argonne. I found this when searching for his mother Frances Bair and she showed up under WWI Mothers' Pilgrimage, 1930.

This article regarding Howard Bair came from the history of Milton township "Arise Wild Land" by Lindsey Williams.
