WOOSTER -- Harry David Marshall Jr., 62, passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 25, 2009, surrounded by his loving family and friends, following a courageous battle with stomach cancer.
He was born in McKeesport, Pa., to Harry D. and Betty M. (Yeager) Marshall Sr. on July 21, 1946. He moved to Canton at the age of 10 where he attended school and graduated from Lincoln High School. He later continued his education at Duff's Business College in Pittsburgh.
He enlisted at the age of 17 and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps including two combat tours in Vietnam.
After the military, he worked as a welder for the Reliance and U.S. Steel companies, a security guard and a cab driver in both Canton and Pittsburgh before returning to the Wooster area and entering the field of MRDD. For several years he worked at the Apple Creek Developmental Center, and then in area group homes, before retiring due to health issues.
He was a devout fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a love he enthusiastically shared with his daughter, Christina. He enjoyed watching his grandson's football and basketball games and his daughter, Christina's Special Olympic events. He was a life-long fan of old-time rock and roll, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, on Friday, July 3, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina M. Marshall of Wooster, his daughter, Rachel M. A. Baney and step-grandson, James Miller of Orrville, his former wife, Donna M. Marshall of Wooster, his stepmother, Ruth Marshall and half-brother, William Marshall of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
