WOOSTER -- John Jr. Landers, 80, of Wooster, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006, in Akron General Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Friends may call Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Glenn Royer officiating.

John was born on August 22, 1926, in Wooster, to John Sr. and Julia Landers. He married Janet S. Kline on April 24, 1954. She survives.
John served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.
He graduated from Wooster High School in 1944, and Kent State University in 1951, with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
He commenced his career in banking as a state bank examiner in 1952. John joined Wayne Savings and Loan Company in 1956, where he held several positions with the company including serving as president/chief executive officer and director. After leaving Wayne Savings, he was president/CEO and director of South Side Savings and Loan Association in Lima, Ohio and was instrumental in the transition to Liberty Lending Services. He graduated from the Ohio Savings and Loan Academy as well as other financial programs at the Ohio State University.
He was a member of the National Society of Controllers and Financial Officers of the United States Savings and Loan League.
He was published in numerous financial periodicals in the area of technical management systems. Most recently he served as executive director of the Rittman Area Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster, where he served on consistory and as the director of the finance committee.
In addition, he served as trustee of the YMCA in Wooster, Wayne County Library and United Way.
To all of us who knew him well, he was a man of great integrity whose principles and values would not be compromised. John was especially loving and devoted to his wife and family as his most treasured times were his many vacations on Sanibel Island, Florida, where he most recently celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Stephen J. and William D. (Darla K.) and two granddaughters, Corinne A. and Chloe J., all of Wooster, two sisters, Carol (Terry) Moore of Mansfield and Mary Elizabeth (Ted) Wiles of Akron.
He will be greatly missed by his two granddaughters, who were the delight of his life, family, friends and colleagues.
