ORRVILLE - John M. Maki, 86, 919 Hostetler Road, Lot 8, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville, after a long period of declining health.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. David Kowaleski officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.

He was born Feb. 16, 1918, in Ashtabula Harbor to Thomas and Mary (Toija) Maki and married Edna V. Butterfield on Sept. 21, 1940, in Steubenville. She survives.
He was a 1936 graduate of Dorset High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in General Patton’s 3rd Army in Germany.
He was a laborer at Crown Fiberglass in Orrville for more than 20 years, retiring in 1982. He also was a security guard at the Quality Castings Co. in Orrville for a short time.
He enjoyed making picture frames, playing golf and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, John L. (Jill) Maki of Creston, Betty (Huib) Aalbregt of Davenport, Fla., and Barb (Dave) Bupp of Orrville; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Art (Connie) Maki of Sun City, Calif.; a sister, Mamie Peltoma of Ashtabula; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A brother, Reino Maki and sisters, Ruth Bixler and Ellen Alvari, died previously.
