WOOSTER - James R. “Stoney” Newberry, 59, 1613 Linwood Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at his home.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with Pastor Thomas Shaw and the Rev. Jim Watt officiating. Military rites will follow.

Friends may call one hour prior to the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.

He was born April 11, 1944, in Wadsworth to William and Dorothy (Riggs) Newberry and married Karen Smith on Oct. 12, 1974. She survives.

He had served in the U.S. Army and had worked for Lowe’s in Wooster, had been a self-employed picture framer and worked at The Gallery in the Vault.

He was a member of Church of the Cross United Methodist Church and enjoyed picture framing, golfing and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Kimberly (Anthony) Rettig of Lakenheath, England, Kyle and Kristi Newberry, both of the home; his father of Wooster; a brother, Bill (Kay) Newberry of DeWitt, Mich.; a sister, Betty (Gene) Howell of Wooster; and several nieces and nephews.

His mother died previously.
