WOOSTER - Mervin M. McClelland, 80, of Wooster, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, in Wooster Community Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at the Apple Creek Cemetery Friday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Robin Myers officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Born Aug. 27, 1924, in Wooster, Ohio, he was the son of Mervin A. and Carrie (Zimmerman) McClelland.
He retired in 1978 from the Ford Motor Co. after 30 years of service.
He served his country with the U. S. Army Signal Corp. during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 68 of Wooster and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Florida. He had also served as a Charter Boat Captain for 10 years in Florida on the Silver Fox.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara (Dexter) Hadley of Florida and Bonnie S. Russell of Wooster; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Nellie Valentine of North Canton, and a brother, Harold McClelland of Akron.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Margary Gordon McClelland, on April 13, 2004, whom he married May 9, 1944 and a brother, Charles and a sister, Gloria Wincek.
