WOOSTER Peter G. Neckles, 79, of Wooster, died Saturday, June 26, 2004 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel with the Rev. Dee McGee officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105
He was born December 16, 1924, in Bronx, New York to George and Frieda (Cambetas) Neckles. He married Sybil Teal on June 30, 1944. She survives.
Peter served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany.
He worked in construction for 28 years and then was a construction inspector in Nassau County, N.Y. for 21 years retiring in 1988.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children Pauline (Ronald) Folden of Parrish, Fla., Frieda Chmela of Lindenhurst, N.Y., George Peter Neckles of DeLand, Florida; grandchildren Tina, Scott, Tammy, Brian, Jamie, Jeffrey, Peter, Jillian, and Kristen; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Xenia Tangalakis and Pauline Scher and a brother, Christo Neckles.
A brother, Theodore Neckles, died previously.
