Maibach, Robert E.
HOLMESVILLE -- Robert E. Maibach, 85, of Holmesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at West View Manor in Wooster.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1921, in Sterling to Joseph and Emma (Ramsier) Maibach, and lived most of his life in Sterling.
He was a retired farmer and truck driver and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He enjoyed horses and harness racing.
Surviving are sons, Robert (Micki) Maibach Jr. of Johnstown, and James (Melissa) Maibach of Bellevue; daughters, Patricia Leohr of Chippewa Lake, Virginia Hahn of Westfield Center, Sally (Tom) Brokken of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Sue (Barry) Schaad of Lebanon, Connie Sims of Wickliffe, Kathy (Tom) Iceman of Wooster, Marilyn Garrison (Tracy) Slater of Creston, Janie (Steve) Burgan of Shreve, and Robin Maibach of Houston, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Arthur (Janet) Maibach of Creston, Joe (Donna) Maibach of Holmesville, and Dale (Dixie) Maibach of Sterling; sisters, Margaret Calame of Creston, and Mary Ellen (Bill) Saylor of Rittman, and special friend, Dee Raynor.
An infant son, Daniel, and brothers, Fred, Alpha, and John Maibach, all died previously.
Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Apostolic Christian Church, 10699 Steiner Road, Rittman, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be at Apostolic Cemetery in Rittman.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Apostolic Fellowship Hall, 11484 Steiner Road, Rittman, and from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the church on Friday.
