RITTMAN - Robert L. Maynard, 73, of Rittman, died early Thursday morning, Feb. 24, 2005, at Barberton Citizens Hospital.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with the Rev. Jerry Durham officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted.

He was born April 2, 1931, in Kermit, W.Va., to Leonard and Sallie (Moore) Maynard and married Doris Pittman on Feb. 11, 1967. She died July 29, 1995.

He had made his home in Rittman since 1964, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. For 27 years, he had worked at the Packaging Corporation of America in Rittman, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of Stanley W. Armentrout Post 1610 of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rittman, where he formerly served on the honor guard team.

Surviving are stepsons, Will (Susan) Ault of Marshallville and Raymond (Linda Kay) Baker of Creston; grandchildren, Keith Wellman, Roger, Larry and Brian Baker, William and Toni Ault, Deanna Denbow; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, a daughter, Donna Wellman, died in 2003, and a grandson, Robert Baker, in 1993. A brother and three sisters also died previously.
