WOOSTER -- Richard "Dick" Newkirk, 68, of Wooster, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Akron City Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster with the Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 19, 1934, in Millbrook to Benjamin J. and Delphia (Grubb) Newkirk.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked in the shipping department at Wooster Products for 20 years, retiring in 1996 and prior to that had worked for the Wooster Glass Co.
He was a member of Lamplighters, AMVETS, American Legion Post 68 of Wooster and the Eagles Lodge of Wooster.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia I. Merritt; sisters, Nina (William) Vincent of Holmesville and Vesta Ginther of Brunswick and brothers, Sonny Newkirk and Guy Newkirk, both of Indianapolis, Ind.
A sister, Beulah Horn and a brother, Rex Newkirk, died previously.
