WEST SALEM -- Robert W. Lewis, 65, of West Salem, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Medina General Hospital.

There will be no services.

Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem is handling arrangements.

He was born Jan. 24, 1943, in New London, Conn., the son of Robert and Ethel (Hewitt) Lewis.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He retired from Southern New England Telephone Co.

He was a member of Groton Sportsman Club in Connecticut.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Pontius) Lewis of West Salem; three daughters, Jennifer (Stephen) Donahue, Jeannine Wyszkowski, and Joy Patterson, all of Connecticut; four grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Ann Queberg of Chatham; two step-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine (Robert) Waugh of Connecticut; his mother-in-law, Irene Pontius of West Salem; and a sister-in-law, Connie Mace of Florida.

His parents died previously.
