DOYLESTOWN -- Stephen W. Milford, 76, of Doylestown, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Hospice Care Center.
Born Sept. 4, 1932, in Doylestown, to Arthur and Oleta (Walsh) Milford, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army.
He retired with more than 30 years of service from Consolidated Freightways and had previously worked at PPG in Barberton.
A life member of the Doylestown American Legion Post No. 407 and the Doylestown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6312, Stephen liked to travel, read, do crossword puzzles and admire cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene in 1974; and brother, John G. Milford.
He is survived by daughters, Deborah (Dale) Slayton of Burbank, Patricia Milford (Mike Slorgie) of Rittman, Nancy Milford of Doylestown and Beth (Rob) Stalnaker of Hudson; grandchildren, Mike Milford, Luke and Dylan Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, with the Rev. Ramsey Wallace officiating.
Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be conducted.
Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
