FREDERICKSBURG - Virgil Eugene Leaman, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at his home, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with the Rev. Jeff Graebing officiating. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery with military honors.
Friends may call Saturday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born June 5, 1924, in Canaan Township, Wayne County, to Paul V. and Etta W. (Ickes) Leaman and married Leta M. Hostetler on Nov. 23, 1949. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the 129th Infantry Regiment in the Philippines.
He had been a farmer all of his life and he and his family operated Pebble Farm near Fredericksburg since 1963.
He was a member and Past Commander of Fredericksburg American Legion and had served as a Salt Creek Township Trustee for 28 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Virgil (Patty) Leaman Jr. of Arkansas, Connie Miller, Duane (Lori) Leaman, Jeffrey Leaman, Karen Hanna and Carol (Bob) Baughman, all of Fredericksburg; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence (Leone) Leaman of Warsaw; a sister, June Leaman of Wooster; and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Harry and Vernon Leaman, and two sisters, Helen Leaman and Hazel Terrell, died previously.
