The following transcription is from a photocopy kindly sent to me by Charles E. G. Pease, a cousin descended from Thomas, brother to my 7G grandmother, Hannah Pease.

 

FROM FRIEND’S REGISTERS, YORKSHIRE

William Pease, of Fishlake, married at Balby, 1686, ii.
22, Ann Pearson, of West Melton, widow, and had 2 daughters.
1) Lydia Pease, born 1687, v. 24, daughter of Ann of
Fishlake, married at Braithwaite, 1706, iv. 26, to
Edward Hobson, of Berley.
2) Rachael Pease, born 1688, iv. 25 (or 1690, ix. 11),
married at Braithwaite, 1710, v. 13, to Thomas
Jessup, of Rawcliffe.

William Pease, had by Mary, a former wife, the
following children:
Elizabeth, born 1672, i. 20.
Mary, born 1674, ii. 5.
Hannah, born 1675, xi. 20, married at Sherborne,
1701, x. 7, to Richard, son of John Ludome, or
Ludham.

Rebecca Brooke (who was buried 1686, iv. 13) and
had a son and 2 daughters:

To Our Well beloved Friends in Philadelphia or else where in America. Those
Dear Friends:
The bearer hereof Richard Leedham inclining to remove himself and family into America with an intent for settlement amongst you, and having at last Monthly Meeting requested a Certificate for that purpose. These therefore may certify you that two Friends of the particular Meeting were appointed to make Enquiry touching his conversation, etc. and gives account they find and not but that he has fully cleared all his Debts, And that their Conversation has been such as reputes them in Unity with them, And as such we recommend them to you, sincerely desiring your care over them, and their growth and prosperity in the Blessed Truth.

Signed at our Monthly Meeting held at York this 4th day of the second month, 1712.

In 1822, the following places were in the Parish of Sherburn In Elmet:

"MICKLEFIELD, in the parish of Sherburn in Elmet, wapentake of Barkston Ash; 2¼ miles S. of Aberford, 6½ from Ferrybridge, 14½ from Selby. Pop. 196. Here is a Chapel of Ease to Sherburn."

"SOUTH MILFORD, in the parish of Sherburn in Elmet, wapentake of Barkston-Ash, liberties of St. Peter and Pontefract; 6 miles N. of Pontefract, 5 from Selby, 8¼ from Tadcaster. Pop. 631."
