Not much is known about Samuel McCue and his family before their arrival in Pennsylvania from County Wicklow, Ireland. He first appears in the tax lists of Willistown Twp, Chester Co in 1734. Records show that Samuel held the following positions in Willistown, Chester PA:
1750 Overseer of the Poor
1752 Constable
1769 Superintendent of HighwaysThe register of St. Peter's Church, East Whiteland, Chester PA (copy in possession of Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania) contains an entry that Isaac Wayne and Samuel McCue had contributed to the building of the church and Samuel was awarded pew 15.
According to the English Ancestry of the Wayne Family, he came from Balnakill, County Wicklow IRL sometime after his marriage. Samuel and his wife Ann did not leave Ireland with her Wayne family in 1724 but left sometime before 1734 when their daughter Hannah was four years old.
Most of what is known about these children is from detailed references to them in Samuel McCue's will and the record, some 46 years later, of the distribution of his estate. Additional information on Hannah McCue's family is from Robert Wayne who has had correspondence with a McCue descendant currently living in TN.

52 M iv. William Steele was born about 1797 in prob Eastown, Chester PA 12 and died after 1860 in prob Eastown, Chester PA.
General Notes: There is only one Steel listed in Easttown in 1830, William. There are two young females 1 under 5 and 1 10-15. The oldest woman, aged 50-60, is probably his widowed mother Elizabeth but it seems that William's wife Sarah Ann is not listed.
In 1840 William Steel is again listed in Easttown, the only male in the household, aged 40-50, with two young girls, 1 under 5 and 1 5-10 which now fit the ages of two known daughters, 1 woman 30-40 and one 70-80. The ages of the two women fit that of his wife Sarah Ann and his mother Elizabeth.
William and Sarah Ann are listed in the 1850 PA census, East Town Twp, Chester Co, with two daughters Sarah E. and Lydia. There is also Ann Steel - age 62, Joseph - age 28 carpenter, Robert Steel - age 57 and Elizabeth Davis - age 60. I think the Ann Steele in the household is William's sister-in-law, Ann Rowland, widow (apparently) of his brother John.
There is also a William Steel listed in the index to an 1857 census of Easttown, Chester Co. I have not found a copy of this census yet.
Listed in Easttown in 1860. William is head of the family, aged 60, Elizabeth aged 25 (the Sarah E. age 15 in 1850). Daughter Lydia is living with them, aged 20 and now named Smith next to 25 year old William A. Smith and their 7 month old daughter. Betsey E. Davis is also listed, still aged 60, and relationship still not identified.
