In the name of god amen!! I Henry Skyles of Leacock Township & county of Lancaster in the Province of Pennsylvaniia being thro God's mercy & goodness of sound mind & memory & being uncertain of life or death, do think it to make this my last will & testament in manner following that is to say... First, It is my will that all my just debts & funeral expenses be duly paid & satisfied.

I give unto my well beloved wife Catherine Skyles, ye just sum of twenty pounds current lawful money of this Province of Pennsylvania; as also the fifth sheaf of rye & oats that shall be raised on the plantation, & the fifth part of the hay, as also one third of all my personal estate except what is herein after excepted, provided that my wife afforesaid, shall behave properly towards my children & not give herself the liberty of being drunk or drink to excess; & if it should happen that she act upon any of ye afforesaid extremes, that then it is my will she shall have the twenty pounds above mentioned in full of all she can claim out of my estate, goods & chattels & upon her good behaviour as afforesaid, shall have over & above a room in the house & half the garden, otherwise to be deprived of those privileges.

ITEM, I give & bequeath unto my sons William, Henry, Petter & Harman the sum of twenty shillings each having already done sufficiently for them, I also give & bequeath unto my son William Skyles jun_, ye sum of twelve pounds of money afforesaid.

ITEM, I give unto my daughters Elizabeth Rutter, Catherine Cowen, and Ann Elizabeth Dobbins, ye sum of twenty shillings each, and I order that my executers herein after named shall not be obliged to pay any of ye said legacies until the expiration of five years after my decease.

ITEM, I give & bequeath unto my youngest son James & youngest daughter Margaret the sum of twenty pounds current money afforesaid to be equally dived among them, and if my son James or daughter Margaret should die before they come to full age or have issue, I order that my son John Skyles, shall have their portion or part of such decd. added to his dividend, is also my will that my son John afforesaid shall have my big waggon & the two waggon horses, to wit; Duke & Jolly and the horn cattle __ he already hath in possesion and to pay the legacies of James & Mararet afforesaid, when they are of age. And I nominate and appoint my trusty & well beloved friend Edward Barwick Esq. & my son John Skyles to be the executors of this my last will & testament. And I do hereby revoke all former wills & testaments, by me made I do declare this to be my last will & testament.... In witness where of I the said Henry Skyles have hereunto set my hand & seal, this 19th day of April, 1750. Henry (X his mark) Skyles.

Signed sealed, published & declared by the above named Henry Skyles as for and as his last will & testament in the presence of us, who have hereunto set our names as witnesses of ye same, in his presence & at his request. Isaac Richardson, John Moore, Thomas (Xhis mark) Henderson.

Personally appeared the first day of June 1750. Isaac Richardson and James Moore, two of the witnesses to the within will and upon their solemn oath did depose & declare that they were present & saw & heard Henry Skyles, the testator sign, seal, publish & declare the within writing for & as his last will & testament & that at the doing thereof, he was of sound memory, to the best of their knowledge & belief.

Lancaster __ June the 14th 1757.. Before me the subscriber came Isaac Richardson and Thomas Henderson, two of the witnesses to the foregoing will, and on their corporal oath did depose and say, that they were present and saw and heard Henry Skyles, the testator within named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the within writing, as and for his last will and testament, and that at the time of doing thereof, he was of sound & disposing mind, memory and understanding to best of their knowledge, observation and belief.
