In the name of God amen. I John Small of Henry County being in good health and
in my perfect Sence and memory praised be almighty God for his mercies bestowed
upon me; and Knowing the Certainty of Death and that it is appointed unto men
and to die, I do make Constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament and
desire it be received by all as such first I commend my Soul unto the hands of
almighty God who gave it hoping through the meretious Crofs and pofsion of my
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to receive a free and full pardon of all my sins
Committed, Secondly I give my body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be
decently buried according to the Will desires of my exos hereafter mentioned and
as for all the rest of my Temporal Estate which almighty God had endowed me
with, I give and bequeath as followith
Item My will and desire is that all my Just Debts that I owe to my body be
punctually paid and satisfied .
Item I give to my Dear and Well beloved wife the third part of my Estate Lands &
moveables during her natural life and then to return to my Children hereafter
named...
Item My Will and desire is that all my children shall have alike son and Dothers
Matthew Small, Eggans Robson Martha Mick Malon beky Morey gem Handcock Sally
Barrnet Esther Denny to them and their heirs forever and I do appoint Francis
Turner Thomas morrey James Denny and Matthew Small my hole & sole exo~ of this
my last Will and Testament in witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and

Court and proved by the oath of the witnesses thereto
subscribed to be the act and deed of the said John Small and the same was

Matthew Small, Thomas Morrow, James Denny, John Henderson and James Nowlin are bound unto James Lyon, William Banks,
Samuel Clark and Francis Turner Gentlemen Justices of the Court of Patrick County now sitting in the sum of five
hundred (500) pounds current money to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Justices and their successors
