Robert Small Sr. Will dated September 10, 1791

 

In the name of God Amen.  I Robert Small being sick and weak of body but of sound mind and memory Thanks be to God for the same do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following viz. I give and bequeath unto my son Levi Small and his heirs all my freehold estate with my water mill and hones and one acre unrecovered of the heirs of Richard Blossom & brandy still and two --- and tub and all my ---- ----- and black horse and one crosscut saw and one desk and one young yoke of oxen & ---- and wheels and no more of my estate that serves him. 

Item I give unto my son Robert Small two head of cattle that he has in possession and one hand saw and no more of my estate whatsoever.

Item. I give unto my daughter Ann Small one feather bed and furniture ---- and best iron pott and ---- and one cow and hefer yearling the best and one ---- desk and two yews and lambs and no more of my estate

Item. I give unto my two grand daughters Polly Blossom and Samantha Blossom one cow and yearling two hoggs years old & also one --- cow and yearling and two other hoggs that is one year old to be equally divided between them at the age of sixteen or marriage.

Item All the remainder part of my estate I lend unto my loving wife Canady Small during her natural life and no longer my will and desire is that after my wife decease that part of my estate lent her be equally divided between my two children by name Levi and Ann Small in witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 10th day of September 1791

Signed sealed published declared and --- by the said Robert Small to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presents of the testator and each other
