Mrs. J. J. Whitmore, 67, of 704 Cleveland avenue, died Monday at 5 p. m. at Samaritan hospital following a two weeks' illness.

Born in Wayne county on March 4, 1875, Mary Lavina Finey Whitmore, was the daughter of Patrick and Anna Finley. Mrs. Whitmore lived in Ashland county for 52 years and in Ashland f¢r 44 years. She was married to J. J. Whitmore by Rev. J. S. Felger on March 15,1894.

She is survived by a son, Ralph of Ashland Route Four; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Smith of Dayton and Mrs. Carl Strang of 413 Buckeye street; six great grandchildren; one great grandchild; a stepmother, Mrs. Patrick Finley of Crestline; a half sister, Mrs. Ida Jacoby of Crestline; and four half brothers, Ray Finley of Ashland, Jay, James and William Finley of Marion. Her parents and one half brother, Samuel, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Whitmore was a member of the Church of Christ and was formerly active in the Women's Work of the church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. at Gilbert's chapel with Rev. Frank W. Brown, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be made in Ashland cemetery. The body is at the chapel where friends may call from this evening until time of services.
