d. 29 Jul 1873 in Taylor Co., KY; bur in Zion Cemetery

Solomon was a Baptist preacher. There are a couple of interesting stories about Solomon Skaggs that I'll post soon. I also have pictures of his gravesite.

1. Nancy Skaggs, b. about 1826. She  m. (1) Alexander LOYALL 29 Sep 1847; m. (2) Silas PHILPOT 4 Sep 1852.
2. Mary Ann 'Polly' Skaggs, b. about 1828; d. before 1868. She m. Jesse LOYALL 29 Sep 1847.
3. William Solomon Skaggs, b. 28 Apr 1829.
4. Sarah 'Sally' Skaggs, b. about 1832; d. 1869. She m. Moses MORRIS 2 Jun 1853.
5. Moses Riley Skaggs, b. 25 Nov 1833; d. 12 Dec 1870. He m. Mary PIERCE 16 Nov 1853.
6. Cynthia Jane Skaggs, b. about 1834; d. Jul 1874. She m. John W. PHILPOTT 24 Jul 1853.
7. Mahala Skaggs, b. about 1836. She m. (1) Thomas R. MORRIS 25 May 1854; m. (2) William UNDERWOOD 20 Feb 1866.
8. Martha Skaggs, b. Feb 1841. She m. Benjamin Franklin SKAGGS 4 Aug 1864.
9. King Solomon Skaggs, b. 1848; d. 1920. He m. Mary Jane ALLEN 29 Nov 1866 in LaRue Co., KY.
