John and Patience came to New England aboard the Anne, 1623. They m. in 1633. In addition to being a planter, John was a businessman, designated as one of the Purchasers for the colony. John was not a member of the original Scrooby group, but was a "stranger" recruited by the merchant adverturers who financed the colony.
