Elva was born in Burnaby, British Columbia in 1934. She was the daughter of Warren Alfred Hunt and Lois Irene Secord. Her paternal grandparents were Peter James Hunt and Elizabeth Burrows of England. Her maternal grandparents were Percy Leroy Secord of St. Thomas, Ontario and Catherine Frances MacDonald of Nova Scotia. About 1954 Elva married Mr. Sanghera. They had two daughters. In addition to being a knowledgable historian, Elva was a great baker and cook who could also sew fine clothes for her granddaughters and grandson. Elva inherited all genealogy records and books that her maternal aunt had collected throughout the years. She now had a head start on her research. She passed away 7 December of 2003 in Burnaby, British Columbia and is sadly missed. |
