Charles was born in 1898 in Buffalo, New York, the son of Louisa Stoltz and Charles Goetz. He was the grandson of Lena Fill and Sebastian Stoltz. Presently his paternal grandparents are unknown.
Charles and Lucy married on 4 May 1929 at St. Mary Magdalene RC Church on Fillmore Ave., in Buffalo, New York.
Charles middle name was listed as Charles A. Propster Goetz in the church records.
The marriage was performed by Rev. Joseph Kopec. The Buffalo public marriage records
state his name was Charles Albert Goetz, listed as a carpenter living at 154 Courtland, which was the home of his uncle,
Joseph Stoltz. Lucy was listed as a telephone supervisor living at 253 Kingsley, the home of her sister Alice and her brother
Theodore. Lucy's aunt, Mary Goetz Beam lived at 255 Kingsley St. Witnesses were Harry Stoltz,
cousin of Charles, and Anna Russ, a friend of Lucy's who also worked at the Telephone Co.
For a time Charles and Lucy lived at 221 Courtland, the home of Charlie's mother.
It was in this home that their only child, Albert William was born on 18 Feb 1930. Albert passed away 10 June 2000.

Lucy was born 13 Dec 1895 in Buffalo, Erie Co., New York, the daughter of Rosa Goetz and Joseph Zeis. She was baptized Lucia Catherina on 20 Dec 1895 by Rev. Joseph Froehlich at St. Marys RC Church, 258 Pine St., Buffalo, New York. Her baptism sponsor was Catherine Goetz, sister of Rosa.
Lucy's maternal grandparents were Conrad Goetz and Barbara Huelz Goetz who married in 1864 at St. Marys RC Church and lived at 457 Adam St. Conrad died in a run away horse accident in 1898. Barbara died of natural causes in 1911.
Her paternal grandparents were Michael Zeis (1846-1915) and Anna Mary Schauberger (1846-1921) Zeis, who married in 1867 at St. Boniface RC Church and lived at 118 Lemon St, and 86 West Parade Ave. Michael with two of his brothers, owned and operated a Planing Mill & Box Factory at 200 Cherry St.
Lucy lived and worked for some time in Manhattan, New York for the Telephone Co.
until she returned to Buffalo, New York.
