Orange Shortbread Cookies Mix 4 cups sifted flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 cup light-brown sugar and 1 tablespoon grated orange rind. Cut in 1 pound margerine until crumbly. Work with hands until dough is smooth. Chill 30 minutes. Roll 1/2" thick between 2 sheets of wax paper. Cut with floured scallop or other cutter. Brush with egg white. Cut candied cherries several times to form leaves of pointsettias on each cookie. Make stems with slivers of green citron. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350° oven 20 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.
