LA653 Anthony HAINES under command of Major MELLINS, as soldier wounded at Burton on Trent, Staffs to his utter undoing. He was maymed by the enemy. 1642
LA690 Joseph SKIRMER coming home found his wife in distress. Joseph BUERSALL asked to see her husband, and said SKIRMER daren't show his face. Said he would cut informant to pieces if he could meet him, that he would set the house on fire and " tear her and her children to pieces"  with the dogs he had with him. He would like more pleasure in tumbling her heart out of her body. He carried a sword and baggonett. Informant doubts whether wife and children will return to their right minds.  1707  (See Barrow on Trent Law and order. LA689 ) 
LA380 John HARDY poor prisoner in the Common gaol for Derby committed to gaol through the false malicious words of Mary SPENCER who laid a child to my charge, offered to marry her but she refused. Admitted to Thomas DEDICK my attorney that I had nothing to do with her in that nature, child now dead. Served three months now in a deplorable condition. 1683
