from 1573 Barlow was considered a Chapelry of Staveley. However the confusion
does not end there. Great Barlow is considered in older documents as part of
the parish of Staveley while Little Barlow is to be found under Dronfield.
Bear this in mind when checking for documentation regarding Barlow, and check
both Staveley and Dronfield, and for good measure the parish of Holmesfield.
