That in 1809 Dorothy wife of William RATCLIFFE younger a private soldier then absent and George their son and Mary the wife of John RATCLIFFE also a private soldier and also absent and Elizabeth dau were removed from Wilne and Shardlow to p. St Olave. London. William and John both brothers of James. 1830
24 Mary DAWSON Willington widow of William DAWSON re settlement of Sophia DAWSON widow of John DAWSON late of Shardlow. Says "John DAWSON  was the youngest son of the examinant by her said late husband William. John born Aston on Trent. Her said late husband s father Edward DAWSON was owner occupier of Crown Inn Castle Donnington Leics. Examinants husband enlisted as a soldier about 6m after marriage leaving examinant at Burton Joyce Notts. she being 21. She became chargeable and taken by Mr BRETT and Mr HEATH to Derby St Peter where she believed her said husband was born. Kept in the workhouse where Mr HUMBER Overseer said it would be no problem as her father kept the "Black Boy". Sister in law Elizabeth GREY who now resides at Willington was present when Overseers of Burton Joyce came to Cavendish Bridge to enquire of settlement of Examinants husband, and that her father said he would give them all the trouble he could send them to Derby even though he knew his settlement was where his was.  1826

Married at Sawley ten yrs ago, has William, Fanny, John, Samuel, Mary. Husbands Settlement Leicester St Margaret Leics. His mothers name was Frances REYNOLDS a native of Leicester Leics father died in Belgrave Gate, his mother died six yrs ago. George STANLEY of the Borough of Leicester Leics knew Samuel TANZER, his parents lived next door for sixteen years.
26 William GREEN re Ann GREEN and her two children. States he is 71 resides at Thringstone Leics, previously at Kimberley Notts and before at Brinsley Notts. Married Mary WILLIAMSON. Compelled to apply for relief from Alvaston where father belonged. Worked at Codnor Park. Five children, Joseph married Ann OLIVER of Whitwick Leics. He was of Thringstone Leics at the time later Whitwick Leics. Killed in a coal pit at Thringstone Leics.. Left wife and two children Sarah, Harr ?. Had one child before marriage Mary Ann. Father gained settlement at Alvaston by hiring to Mr HEELY. He lived to a great age. Note "no servant appears to have lived at Mr EALEY by name of GREEN since 1785".   c 1858

Went to reside with son Wiliam of Moorfield Staffs, then Brinklow Warwicks then Banbury Oxon then returned to Brinklow Warwicks. Heard husband was apprenticed to Benjamin CLIFFORD of Shardlow boatwright. Jesse CHAPMAN was present when Sarah HENDLEY was admitted to Rugby Union Workhouse Warwicks.  1860
