The following are held by the Islay Family History Society:

• All the Old Parish Records ("OPR's"), earliest about 1726 but the early records are patchy - on microfilm & microfiche

• The International Genealogical Index ("IGI") records on microfiche (from the Church of Latter Day Saints - LDS)

• All the census records from 1841 - 1901.  We also have the 1881 on CD

• Hearth Tax Report of 1684

• Collection of photographs - more always welcome!

• Collection of letters and family trees - currently being indexed with a view to cross referencing

• Small library of books e.g. Black's "Surnames of Scotland", Whyte's Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants to Canada" - only Vol 1, "Kith 'n Kin", "John Ramsay of Kildalton" etc. - we would be delighted to receive donations to our library!

• Local knowledge of people and places of Islay

• Maps and charts, the oldest a chart of 1757, showing significant settlement in Islay and Jura
