Madison is located on the eastern edge of South Dakota. About 40 miles north-northwest of Sioux Falls.

John Gilchrist and family lived about 3 miles southeast of the city of Madison. This location is extremely accurate. I have local confirmation of this from tax records, and photos from a small plane...coming soon!
