  3. Obituary: No services are planned for Harold Dean Stice Sr., 80, rural Lawrence. A cremation is planned. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Herington. Mr. Stice died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at his home. He was born June 16, 1928, in White City, the son of Glen Crandall and Muriel Valerie Nott Stice. He was a graduate of Herington High School. Mr. Stice was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the railroad for many years before entering sales as a wholesaler for pet supplies, and worked until his retirement. He married Mary Joan Pauly on Aug. 10, 1949, in San Diego. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include four sons, Glen, Kansas City, Mo., Harold Jr., Kansas City, Kan., David, Kansas City, Mo., and Warren, Bonner Springs; three daughters, Debbie Sturtdrige, Kansas City, Mo., Denise King, Oskaloosa, and Denette Stice, Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Nadine Hill and Carolyn Shank, both of Salina; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
