Like, maybe you reach for the mouse instead
of the blinker switch when you're driving?
Or, you reach for the mouse to turn the
page of a magazine you're reading?
...to change channels on the T.V. ?
You're hooked on the mouse; maybe even addicted.
While on the Internet, the keyboard is right at your fingertips and can reduce the need for reaching for the mouse.
It may take a mouse click to establish a "focus," but once focused....
<Page Up> and <Page Down> is really
easier than mousing the scroll bar.
.... Or <up-arrow> or <down-arrow>
<Ctrl>+<Home> ("+" = pressed simultaneously)
will take you to the top of the page.
<Ctrl>+<End> will take you to the
bottom of the page. (Very logical)
You can even <Tab> through links; Just hit <Enter> when a link is high-lighted and you're there; why reach for the mouse? <Shift>+<Tab> reverses the direction of <Tab>..
And, the biggest navigational hint of all....
<Alt>+<back arrow> is easier than
clicking on the "Back" button... agree? It simply takes you back
to the previous page you were viewing, by-passing the web page author's
suggestion of where you should go back to...
And... <Alt>+<forward arrow> is sometimes usefull, but doesn't always get you to where you were.
