Emily Schell was born Auguste Emilie Schittkowski on July 10, 1896 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was baptised at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Scranton Avenue. It was from the records of this now disolved church that I found her birth names. At the time of the change of the last name from Schittkowski to Schell was when she changed her name officially from Auguste to Emily. She is listed on most census records that I have found her on as Emily. She had been a seamstress at the Lyon Taylors.
Henry, from what I have been able to find out, was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 16, 1895. His parents were John Engle and Juia Dupowski according from his death certificate. At the time of his death in 1959, he may have been working at the Warner Swayse Company in the tool supplies department. He had been in the U.S. Army and servered in World War I with an honorable discharge on November 26, 1918 with the rank of Private.
Emily ended up in a nursing home on Franklin Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio where she resided until the time of her death.
