This is going to be the story of Reinhold Sonnenberg. He was my great uncle, the younger brother of my grandfather, Herman Sonnenberg. This tale will be told as Reinhold wrote his "life story". He wrote this down several times (we have found about 4 or 5 versions so far). The translations by my father are taking time due to his mixture of German and Russian and lots of mispellings of words. It makes it rather difficult. When Reinhold died in February, 1998, his "guardian" sent my father a treasure box. All of Uncle Reinhold's papers and photos. Thanks to this, we have copies of his pay book from his service in the German Navy in World War II, his Identification papers from 1943, when he lived in Posen, all kinds of goodies! These will be up for your viewing as I get information to go with it.
This site will be a work in progress. As I get infomation together, I will try to get it up and running for you to see. Right now I am waiting for my father to send me a partial translation of the first of several versions of Reinhold's story.
Please visit again soon, to see changes as I get a chance to upload them.
Please check out my Sonnenberg GenConnect Boards! We can exchange information here!!
