An excellent book for World War I service records in the old Morwell Shire is Duty Nobly Done: Great War Enlistments from the Shire of Morwell by John Pearson. (Churchill: the author, 1992) Some 14 honour rolls (and corrections to memorials) have been reproduced here from this book with the author's permission.

Hazelwood South Hall Honour Board

This Honour Board is mounted in the Hazelwood South Hall (Tramway Road). It lists the names of the "citizens of Hazelwood South" who served in both the 1914-18 and 1939-45 wars. This Honour Board was prepared during the 1960s.

The names listed for the 1914-18 war were taken from the Hazelwood South State School Honour Board (see below). The names of J. Medew and T. Mackey were added, and one of the two listings of H. Dietrich should be A. Dietrich.

This Honour Board, unveiled in November 1920, reportedly listed "the names of soldiers who had attended the church previous to enlisting". The North Hazelwood Presbyterian Church, a weatherboard building located on the present site of St. Andrew's in Church Road, was destroyed in the 1944 bushfires. The names listed below are taken from a report on the unveiling of this honour board which appeared in the Morwell Advertiser of 5 November 1920.
