This page contains a list of books relevant to north east Victoria. These have been submitted by subscribers and in some cases, personal opinions are included. If you have a local history book that you have found useful, please email details to Peter in a similar format to that below, for inclusion.
The books are grouped under towns where applicable, otherwise by locality, shire, whatever. The grouping may be a bit arbitrary, so please scroll right through looking at possible area names.
Various subscribers to the AUS-VIC-NE list have graciously offered to do lookups for many of the books listed below. If so there will be 'For lookups email ....' comment in the entry. Just click on the name to activate your email program. Also, for a few books, people have kindly submitted their own indexes to various unindexed books and are willing to do lookups from those books. A link to the book index page is shown for these books, or you may want to look at Book-indexes\book-indexes.html first.
| Please make your request is as specific and explanatory as possible. The pre-filled email that is opened when
you click on the submitter's name includes the book's title, but you
will
need to politely make your request and to include your persons name (and maybe a date or whatever else is relevant). The people who have made the offer to lookup their records are busy, and their offer is most appreciated. Please make it as easy for them as you can. The volunteer will decide just what he or she is willing and able to do. Remember that the volunteer is never obligated to do something for you. But words such as PLEASE help a lot. And also remember to thank the volunteer for their work afterwards regardless of whether it helped you or not. At least acknowledge that you have received the volunteer's reply. The volunteers are helping you for free and are not allowed to charge for their time nor make a profit in any way from these lookups. |
If you have books covering the North East area with indexes and you are prepared to check for others, or for any enquiries or comments about the operation of this page, please e-mail the listowner Peter
If you find any of the email addresses below are invalid (or you wish to change your contact details or remove your entry) , please notify me at Peter
