The reason we do this is that we use JavaScript to assemble our e-mail address piece by piece to make it nearly impossible for spiders that crawl our web site to harvest our e-mail addresses. Victorian North East Lookups Available

This page lists those members of the AUS-VIC-NE mailing list who are prepared to offer lookups to others. This is the preferred method of requesting information, rather than a general request direct to the list of "Is Fred Bloggs buried in the Boomahnoomoonah cemetery". If no-one is offering an appropriate lookup, then it is quite appropriate to ask the List. Alternatively Genealogy Helplist Australia is also a good resource for areas in the rest of the state or in other states.

Please note that this page (since June 2006) now specialises in lookups for north east Victorian resources only.

E-mail the person listed next to the resource by clicking on their highlighted name which should start your email program.

Please make your request is as specific as possible. Requests such as "Can you tell me anything about Fred Bloggs", when someone has listed a number of resources WILL be ignored, with the full support of the Listowner. The pre-filled email that is opened when you click on the submitter's name includes the subject/title, so you will need to politely make your request and to include your persons name (and maybe a date or whatever else is relevant).

The people who have made the offer to lookup their records are busy, and their offer is most appreciated. Please make it as easy for them as you can. DO NOT send pages of information or request all references for a surname.

The volunteer will decide just what he or she is willing and able to do. Remember that the volunteer is never obligated to do something for you. But words such as PLEASE help a lot.

And also remember to thank the volunteer for their work afterwards regardless of whether it helped you or not. At least acknowledge that you have received the volunteer's reply.

The volunteers are helping you for free and are not allowed to charge for their time nor make a profit in any way from these lookups.
