Subscribers are requested to forward any snippets of knowlege that they may have about any town/locality (no matter how small), by e-mail to kapana@netspace.net.au

Hopefully over time, this will build up to a valuable resource for 'newbie' subscribers.

Cemetery : Gazetted opening? Still open/closed? Records held by? Monumental inscriptions?
Records: Rate books, shire records, etc. located where?
War memorials: Location and specific conflict (e.g. WWI/WWII) of war memorials and honour boards.
Organisations: e.g. Masonic Lodges
Books: Books about the town.
Links: Other sites with details of town.

Name: Balranald
Details of Yanga Station, a major property near Balranald, can be found in the Library

Name: Menindee
Details of Maidens Hotel, Menindee, by Mary Wilson, can be found here.

Name:  Tartna Point
Approximate Location:  North of Menindie, on the Tolarno run, in the property now called Harcourt.
Short history: Included the Cliffs Hotel, delicenced in the 1890s. Ted and Ettie Baker ran the Tartna Point Post Office and Telephone Exchange from there for a number of years.
