I have another life with an interest in Crazy Quilting, and as part of a swap over the internet this spool of thread arrived from the USA. It is on a wooden bobbin similar to spools that go into the base of sewing machines. The sender knows nothing of its history, except to say that it came from an auction on eBay, and she obtained a number of them.
My real guess is that it is from some time between the 1920s and 1950s,
but that is just a wild guess.
Can anyone throw any light on their history?????
