Mary Swanger Courtemanche

I was born on March 4, 1948 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH, the first child of Phillip
Frazier and Kathryn Costello Swanger.
In 1967, I married Jeffrey H. Courtemanche and we have two children, Charles and Michelle. Jeff and I were divorced in 1996 and Charles is now doing much of the work on the Courtemanche genealogy. Somewhere along the way, we bought a computer "for the kids". Both children are still very interested in computers but when the modem came into the house, I discovered that I could actually indulge the urge that I had suppressed for years and start researching my family. It wasn't long before my brother, John, joined me in my pursuit. Mom is very interested in discovering more about her family and has been joining me on my jaunts since my father died. We have made some important finds on her family in the past year. These are posted under "Grafflin and Herring."
The high points of my genealogy endeavor so far (besides all the wonderful cousins and friends I have found) have been the formation in 1997 of the Swanger Family Association and the honor of joining the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution in October of 1998.
Another interest of mine is photography, and I love all old photographs besides taking my own. I hope this web site will combine all of these to provide the visitor with an enjoyable trip, while providing information for the serious genealogist. Enjoy!!
I have done my best to ensure that the information contained on this site is accurate and I will be glad to provide whatever documentation I have on request. Any corrections and additions are welcomed. Mary S Courtemanche
