birth: Although Anna's marriage record and her 1930 census record give his birth place as Arkansas, John's own census records consistently give his birth place as Kentucky. 710. Joseph10 Hastings
general: There is conflicting information regarding which Joseph Hastings married Lydia Brown 2 Oct 1716 in Watertown MA.  Here's what I have found:

Bond's Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts (1855):
p.285 #16 Joseph3, son of John2 (Thomas1) and Abigail (Hammond), bap 10 Jul 1698, d. 23 Mar 1783 Waltham age 85
p.286 #19 Joseph3, son of Joseph2 and [2nd wife] Martha (Shepherd), b. Wat 3 Jan 1684/5
p.286-87 nothing further for #16 (son of John and Abigail)
p.287 #19 (son of Joseph and Martha) marr. Lydia Brown

The Hastings Memorial, Descendants of Thomas Hastings of Watertown (1866):
p.54 Joseph3, son of John2 (Thomas1) and Abigail (Hammond), bap 10 Jul 1698, d. 23 Mar 1783, marr Lydia Brown
p.83 Joseph3, son of Joseph2 and [2nd wife] Martha (Shepherd) b. 3 Jan 1685, d. 7 Oct 1695 Weston, marr Elizabeth [–?–]

"Descendants of Samuel Hyde", Register 71:147 (1917):
Joseph3, son of Joseph2 (Thomas1) and [1st wife] Ruth (Rice), b. Wat 3 Jan 1684/5, marr Lydia Brown

Because Lydia (Brown) Hastings died in Waltham, I have made the assumption that her husband is the Joseph who died in Waltham.

1360. Jehu11 Burr
general: Great Migration Begins, p.278-80; Families of Old Fairfield p.116-17
marriage: Jehu probably married Elizabeth [–?–].  Elizabeth was born about 1604.  Some sources name her Elizabeth Cable, Elizabeth Stedman or Martha Heath.  It is also possible that he married twice, and that his son Jehu was from the first marriage.

Jacobus, in preparing his study of Fairfield families, noted the following: "He may have married more than once. The mother of Jehu, Jr., was quite likely sister of John Cable, Sr. There was prob. some relationship between the Burrs and the family of Nathaniel Perry"

Great Migration Begins p.300-01:John Cable was related in some way to Jehu Burr.  First, they were paired in all their migrations.  Both first resided in Roxbury, and moved to Springfield in 1636, where both were among the four leading citizens.  In contributions made on 13 January 1638 for building a house for Rev. George Moxon and for his maintenance, the largest donations on each occasion were made by William Pynchon, Henry Smith, Jehu Burr and John Cable.  Pynchon and his son-in-law Smith remained in Springfield and were the most prominent citizens in the town for many years to come.  Burr and Cable both departed Springfield in 1641 and participated in the founding of Fairfield in that year.

Second, in his will John Cable appointed "my loving kinsman Jehu Burr and John Burr my overseers."  The connection was probably through the first wife of Cable, or through Burr's wife.
