Börge Danielsson and Ingebor Persdotter Research Notes
All of the events mentioned below occurred in Jönköpings län, Smaaland, Sweden, in the parishes of Ramkvilla and Bäckaby. There is probably at least one and possibly two more parishes that are unknown.
The problem Originally this research note included problems for Börge Danielsson and Ingebor Persdotter, but those has been resolved. However, in the process a lot of detail has been gathered that may be of interest.
Bäckaby The initial records for Börge and Ingebor were found in Bäckaby. They begin with the 1710 Åslatorp household examination;, and the 5 p Trin 1711 baptism of their daughter Maria (Bäckaby Kyrkobok Vol. CI:1 (1688-1711) p.43), who was born in Åslatorp.
Soon after (or perhaps before) Maria's baptism, the family moved to Åskog, where they are found in the household examinations for 1711-1713, 1715, and 1716-1717, living with Daniel Andersson, Ingrid Börgesdotter, and Maria Danielsdotter. Börge and Ingebor's daughter Elizabeth (Lisbet), born in Åskog, was baptized the 1st Sunday in Advent 1716 (Bäckaby Kyrkobok 1715-1738 p.7). Maria Danielsdotter was one of her sponsors. From 1714 through 1716, Börge was a sponsor at three other baptisms.
Soon after Lisbet's baptism, Börge and Ingebor moved to Rösjö Mellangård, where they are found in the household examinations for 1718, 1720-1739, and 1731-1733. Maria Danielsdotter, now married to Nils Hemmingsson, also moved to Rösjö Mellangård, but Daniel Andersson and Ingrid Börgesdotter remained in Åskog.
Börge and Ingebor's daughter Karin, born in Rösjö Mellangård, was baptized Quasimodo 1726 (Bäckaby Kyrkobok 1715-1738 p.31). From 1719 through 1732, Börge was a sponsor at ten other baptisms. In 1719, Ingebor was a sponsor at the baptism of Maria Danielsdotter's first child, and for at least one other baptism.
After 1732, Börge and Ingebor's daughter Maria and her husband and their children remained in Rösjö Mellangård. In fact, some of their descendants lived in Rösjö Mellangård at least until 1880.
Börge and Ingebor and their other two daughters disappear from the Bäckaby records after 1732. With one exception, there is no indication in either the 1720-1739 or 1731-1733 household examinations of any change in their status. The exception is a comment after Lisbet's name, indicating some type of event in 1731, probably a confirmation.
Börge and Ingebor finally reappear in Hustruskog, Ramkvilla, in the household examinations for 1740-1753 and 1754-1769. Börge died 26 Oct 1771 (Ramkvilla Kyrkobok Vol. C:3 (1757-1803) p.356). Ingebor died 28 Jul 1761 (Ramkvilla Kyrkobok Vol. C:3 (1757-1803) p.300).
Maria Danielsdotter Appearing throughout the records for Börge Danielsson is the name of his sister, Maria Danielsdotter. As noted above, she is found in the household examinations for Åskog in 1711-1713, 1715, and 1716-1717, and for Rösjö Mellangård in 1720-1739. In addition to being one of the sponsors at the baptism of Börge's daughter Lisbet, she is a sponsor at some of the other baptisms where Börge is a sponsor.
Maria Danielsdotter and Nils Hemmingsson were married in 1716 (Bäckaby Kyrkobok 1715-1739 p.105). At that time, she was from Åskog. He was from Horsefall [Horvidsfall in Korsberga]. He is not in the Bäckaby household examinations for 1715-1717.
Maria died in 1754 at Åskog (Bäckaby Kyrkobok 1739-1804 p.249). From this record we learn that she was born in 1700 in Tröskillatorp, Ramkvilla, the daughter of Daniel Andersson and Ingrid Börgesdotter (Ramkvilla Kyrkobok 1688-1707 p.27). Nils died 15 Oct 1763 at Åskog (Bäckaby Kyrkobok 1739-1804 p.269).
Daniel Andersson and Ingrid Börgesdotter The records in Bäckaby for Daniel and Ingrid begin in 1711 with the clerical survery for Åskog. They apparently remained in Åskog for the rest of their lives. In addition to the 1711-1713, 1715 and 1716-1717 household examinations mentioned above, they are also found in Åskog in 1718, 1720-1739, and 1740-1753.
As noted in the 1740-1753 household examination, Daniel Andersson died 12 Jul 1745 at Åskog (Bäckaby Kyrkobok Vol. CI:3 (1739-1804) p.235). He was born in 1652 possibly in Edå [Värmland] or Eke [Kronoberg], the son of Anders Andersson and Anna Jonsdotter. No records were found in Edå, and the Eke records do not go back far enough.
From 1712 through 1720, Daniel was a sponsor at seven baptisms, including two where Börge Danielsson and Maria Danielsdotter were also sponsors. From 1730 through 1740, he was the sponsor at an additional five baptisms.
Ingrid Börgesdotter died 16 Sep 1748, also at Åskog (Bäckaby Kyrkobok Vol. CI:3 (1739-1804) p.239). She was born in 1652, the daughter of Börge Johansson and Maria [--?--]. She was also a sponsor at several baptisms.
Ramkvilla - Ingebor Persdotter She is probably the daughter of Per Michaelsson and Sara Nilsdotter, who were living in Medeltorp throughout the period of Ingebor's childhood. Ingebor was living in Medeltorp in 1707 when she was confirmed and in 1708 when she was married, and she and her new husband lived there until they migrated to Bäckaby.
No direct evidence has been found indicating that Per Michaelsson and Sara Nilsdotter are Ingebor's parents. There is another couple in Medeltorp about the time of her birth that are another possibility - Per Carlson and Elin Jonsdotter. No record could be found of their marriage or Elin's death. She is not in Medeltorp in 1693.
In 1696 Per Carlson married Marit Svensdotter (Ramkvilla Kyrkobok 1688-1707 p.204), and they lived in Medeltorp in 1697-1699 but are not in Medeltorp or any other place in Ramkvilla in 1700. No death has been found for either of them in that time period.
The following records were found in Ramkvilla for Ingebor Persdotter and her probable parents, Per Michaelsson and Sara Nilsdotter. The records begin in 1688, but the family does not appear until 1690.
Ramkvilla - Börge Danielsson Records found in Ramkvilla for Börge Danielsson and his probable ancestors. The records begin in 1688, but the family does not appear until 1693.
Ramkvilla - Börge Danielsson and Ingebor Persdotter Records found in Ramkvilla that include both Börge Danielsson and Ingebor Persdotter.
For Ingebor Persdotter, her death record removes the initial doubt, and confirms that she is the daughter of Per Michaelsson and Sara Nilsdotter.
