1.1.5.8 ABSOLOM MATLOCK, son of Moore MATLOCK and Jane POWELL b. 13 Jul 1771 and d. about 1838 m. 1st HANNAH MOORE; 13 Mar 1799, South Carolina ( probable dau of Hugh MOORE ) b. 10 Oct 1777 and d. 7 Oct 1820 m. 2nd ELIZABETH DYER, 20 Feb. 1827 Elizabeth survived her second husband. Elizabeth ____ m. 1st Manoah DYER, abt. 1802, in Pendleton Dist. S.C. They removed to Warren Co. Ky, a few years after marriage. Notes from Melba Wood: Absolom lived next to Hugh MOORE in South Carolina. He went to Warren Co. Kentucky. Moore Matlock sold a slave in Roane Co. Tenn. to Absolom, but he wasn't to have possession until after Moore's death. Melba found several girls but couldn't prove which girls are daughters or granddaughters. They could even be daughters of Littleberry in Roane Co. Tn. Absalom had the following children all, it is believed, by his first wife.
