R.C., born ca 1810 in Baltimore, Md.; died (or buried) 4 December, 1850, age 40, Buried Yerba Buena Cemetery, San Francisco, Ca. Body later moved to City Cemetery - 1870 or later.

R.E., born 13 July 1881, son of Henry Pickens and Lucy Vardeman Matlock. Married Aulener (Belle) Durrett. Died 26 December, 1956 and buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches, Tx. Children: Clara, Nina, Dorothy and James. Might have been others.

RALPH MATLACK, born 29 March 1378 son of Charles Ephraim (Col. Timothy's line). Children: Ruby, Floyd, Lucille, Paul, Phyliss, Levi and Joe.

RIAL A., born 26 November 1839 in Ky., son of Rial H. and Lutitia Scrirnrnings Matlock. Died 6 December 1888, buried Old Union Baptist Cemetery, Warren Co., Ky.

RIAL (or Real) H., born 29 January 1800 Pendleton Dist. S.C., son of Absolom M. and Hannah Moore Matlock, married Lutitia Scrimmings. Died 21 February 1873 and buried Old Union Baptist Cemetery, Warren Co., Ky. Their children: Absolom, Malvina, Elizabeth, James B., Charles E., Micajah J., Rial A., Angeline E., and Amanda A.

REAL (or Rial), married 3 September 1806 Roane Co., Tn. Shown on 1805 Roane Co. census. Signed petition re Simm's Settlement 1810. This was in the Giles Co., Tn./Limestone Co. Ala. area. Nothing further known of this man. His wife was Nancy Mahon.

RICHARD MATLACK, shown in Tennesseans in the Civil War as a surgeon. Was in the Federal army.

RICHARD MATLOCK, (sometimes shown as Medlock), born April l761 in Granville, N.C. He was a soldier in the American Revolution. In 1790 Richard is shown in Burke Co., N.C. as follows:

I male over 16, 3 males under 16 4 females.

Can anyone identify these children? In 1800 Burke Co., N.C. he is shown as follows: 1 male under 10, 1 male 10/16; I male 16/26; 1 rnale 26/45 1 male over 45 and 1 fcmale 26/45. Richard rnarried 10 May 1804 in Hawkins Co., Tn. Mary Waddell or

WEDELL (other spellings). The fact that there were no census records for 1810 and 1820 for Hawkins Co., Tn. makes the job of identifying their children very difficult. It would seem, though, that three of the younger sons were: Johnson, Samuel and Daniel. Johnson married a Dorothy Matlock. A descendant believes that George shown 1840 Hawkins Co. near the others was a brother to this Dorothy (and maybe he is right). Perhaps the George who lived in Hawkins earlier and died in Ky. was a son by the first wife of Richard. Richard died 4 November 1847 in Hawkins Co. The widow and some of the children went to Indiana. She (Mary Matlock, the widow) was living with Daniel in 1860.

RICHARD MATLACK, son of William and Mary Hancock Matlack, married 1721 Rebecca Haines. Married 1745 Mary Wood.

ROBERT, shown 1840 Lawrence Co., Ala., probably the son of Moses M., and Frances Canhill Matlock. Had at least 2 children and probably many more.

ROBERT MATLOCK, shown 1840 Cumberland Co., Ky. Was divorced from Mary Logan March 1843 same county.

ROBERT MADLOCK, mentioned in 1638 Charles City, Va. "Pioneers and Cavaliers".

ROBERT C., born 1817 in Alabama, son of Littleberry Matlock and Phoebe Tharp Matlock. Wife's name was Martha. Children identified: Martha, John J., Elizabeth P., Mary J., Margaret Alabama, Robert J., Phoebe E., Richard C. and Virginia.

ROBERT MEDLOCK, (sometimes Matlock) from Kentucky to Crawford Co. Mo. ca 1818 son of Elias, wife Mary Carpenter. Had 4 children one of whom was Elias.

ROBERT H., born 6 Feb. 1885, son of John Alexander and Mary E. Clifton Matlock; married Mary E. Vardeman, born 25 September 1887, daughter of John and Eliza Clifton Vardeman. Robert H. died 10 March, 1952 and his wife died 18 May 1968. Both are buried Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches, Texas. I do not have a list of their children other than Bertis M. who was once Sheriff of Nacogdoches Co.

ROWLAND, born ca 1852 in Arkansas. Son of John and Emily Matlock, Wife Susan M. Shown 1880 census of Boone co., Arkansas. Children shown: Eliza A., Levi, Melton, Sarah E. and John all born Ark.

RUFUS ELSTON, born Ca 1879 shown 1904 San Francisco, Ca. Voters Registration; lived at 190 Montgomery St.
