She was born in Pleasant Hill, La. Her father was Thomas L. Taulbee. She had 2 sisters, Eudora or Dora who married jerre Brown, Mollie who married a Baker and a brother named Thomas. Thomas (the brother) died as a young man and his sister Mollie Baker raised the son who took the name of Thomas Franklin Baker. On the 1900 and 1910 census Minnie says her father was from Ky. and from Ala.
