Welcome to
the Crooked Tree
I have been sidelined for a long time with a now removed brain tumor and am in the process of updating these pages as quickly as I can. I would appreciate hearing about any link that does not work.
Please ignore any mail link that points to moravia@doitnow.com. That is an old email address that is no longer in use. I made the mistake when I first created these pages of putting that link on every subpage. I will try to get them all removed as soon as possible. The new email link for contacting me is mailto:rlgjr1@aolcom
The Taulbee Family History - A project underway which will be in progress for quite some time.
While walking in a silent wood
Seeking the balm of solitude,
I chanced upon a crooked tree
And paused - for it resembled me.
Warped by the winds of many storms
With features roughened, gnarled and worn -
Its form was bent, yet spiring high
As though it wished to reach the sky.
Then as I mused, a playful breeze
Winged as overture through the trees,
Responding to the vibrant call
My woods became a forest's ball
Where each and every pulsing thing
Began to sway, to dance and swing.
The crooked tree of all the rest
In grace and rhythm seemed the best
And chosen by the chickadee
The stage from which it sang to me.
Now, when I am afraid or weak
Back to the woods I go to seek
The gallant courage of the tree
God fashioned there to strengthen me.
