Margaret (Peggy) Taulbee, daughter of Andrew Taulbee and (-?-), was born in 1805 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Margaret married John Dunn, Jr., Step son of her sister Elizabeth Taulbee and son of John Dunn, by an unknown wife. John Dunn, Jr. was born in 1812. Margaret was 7 years older than John.

Ira Taulbee, son of Margret (Peggy) Taulbee, and (-?-) was born in 1832 in Morgan County, Kentucky, and died about 1897 in Breathitt County. It is unknown if Ira was born out of wedlock or the child of a previous marriage, although I surmise that most believe the former. He married Susan Sheffield on August 18, 1852/53 in Breathitt County. Susan was born in October of 1832 in Lee County, Virginia.

Dan Flinchum and John Shackelford shot and killed James Shockey, husband of Mary J. Taulbee (daughter of Jesse Taulbee and Nancy J. Smith) over the 1888 elections. I do not have the details of this story, if true, but one can conclude from the birth dates of Dan's children that he was either not charged, not convicted, or not punished for the shooting.

3. Ira John Taulbee was born June 19, 1860/62* and died August 23, 1940. He is buried at Nego Branch. He married Rosaline L. Maloney, daughter of William McKinley Maloney and Malinda Landsaw. Roseline was born October 20, 1861 and died May 8, 1954*** and is buried at Negro Branch.

*Rose Taulbee lists 1860 as birth year.

Stella Taulbee was born in October 1894. She married William Johnson.

Flinchum was born January 8, 1861 and died February 5, 1926; (2) James Kidd, son of Samuel Kidd and Mary Ann Noble, in 1886. James was born in may, 1867 and died in 1938. He married Belle Tyra Hatton. (Following Margaret's death? One source says she also divorced James, another source makes no such mention. In any event, he is buried with first wife, Margaret in Flinchum Cemetery, Wolfe County, Kentucky.)

The source is this Isaac as son of Margaret and John is Rose Taulbee,s Taulbee Family History, and she expressed doubt about his parentage and notes that he was living with Daniel and Susan Allen on the 1850 Morgan County census. Susan was a cousin of Margaret.
